Why Detox?
At Lu-Ma, we are passionate about serving food that is as natural as possible. Whole foods that are full of nutrients and energy all aligned with the Macrobiotic way of life.
Our detox packages focus on eliminating foods that we know contribute to toxin build up in the body and prevent it from working at its optimal such as refined sugars, red meat and dairy. For the duration of your detox you will eat fruits, vegetables, legumes and grains only and any added sugars will be natural such as rice or maple syrup, all of which help support our bodies to work more efficiently.
We include complex carbohydrates because they don’t spike your blood sugar levels and instead help you feel fuller for longer by giving you a steady release of energy throughout the day. Where possible we choose seasonal foods as they contain the most nutrients and we always soak our beans and pulses in seaweeds to support the digestive system in breaking them down. And it’s all gluten free!
All our detox packages are carefully curated by Angela Agrati-Prange who is an Executive Chef and has over 40 years experience in Macrobiotic foods.

What does the package include?
Breakfast, morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack and dinner.
Will the programme help me loose weight?
Our detox programmes are not aimed at weight loss but instead work on detoxifying the body. Weight loss will be entirely dependant on your body type and metabolism.
Can I swap menu options?
Our programmes are specifically designed to eliminate toxins in the body. We will work with you to understand if you have any allergies and can remove these if they are part of the programme. The rest of the menu we ask you to kindly trust us with the process.
Should I drink lots of water?
Its recommended to drink 2-3 litres a day alongside any of our programmes to help support the body in flushing out toxins.
Is this a juice cleanse?
No. Juice cleanses are high in fructose and we believe should only be done with the advise of a nutritionalist or doctor. Our detox programmes are loaded with vegetables, grains, beans, pulses, superfoods and some fruit. This gives your body the best chance to rid itself of toxins whilst supporting all its important functions.
